What is for you won't miss you!

Hello!
Everyday I spend some time on social media. Sometimes just for news consumption, and sometimes to enjoy fashion, quotes, music, podcasts, life's lessons etc. I logged into Instagram around lunchtime and I saw a post that resonated with me because I used to be that girl. This Nigerian-American lady called Wemi, who shares inspirational thoughts every so often reminded us through her post that what we chase most times runs away from us, and what we work for, and allow to come to us is what is usually for us. Here's the link to it, please watch it.

                                                                What is yours is yours

It reminded me of Natalie in her 30's who was desperate to get married and have children before it's too late. I never dated in my 20's. I had my first bf at 32. I wanted to get married to him which would have been a big big mistake. I brought up the topic of marriage, he didn't want to get married, and he said he doesn't want the relationship any more. I thought it was a phase, and after a while, I gave up and blocked him and moved on with my life, focusing on my career.
I have talked to other men, whom I never dated or had any kind of physical relationship with, and because I wanted to get married, I brought it up right at the start. Well actually with one other man.
God must have been tired of hearing my prayers. I am at the point where I realized that I was chasing marriage. The thing about my life is - the more I chased marriage, the faster it ran away from me. The more I chased marriage, the more pain I brought into my life.

In 2022, I finally learned!
I let go. I stopped chasing marriage even though it's a desire of my heart. I sought peace instead.
I have seen this in my career as well, when I stop actively chasing job titles, promotions etc, they came with ease and in God's time.
I have learned that you work hard for things, but do not chase them. Everything I chased, has always been unattainable, until I let it go.
I have learned that what God has for me, is for me. I have learned that if something leaves, it was never for me.

This is a short post, because Wemi's reel tagged above says it all.
I leave you with this "Everything that is intended for you is already in progress. You do not need to pursue it, worry about it, or try to force it into being."
